Our Privacy Commitment
This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how Givsly PBC (“Givsly,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and discloses personal information through givsly.com/login and through the services we provide using the Givsly Platform, including Responsible Advertising, Responsible Events, Responsible Marketing, and Donation Offers (collectively, the “Services”).
1. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time and will indicate when changes have been made by revising the date at the top. If material changes occur, we will provide additional notice, such as posting a prominent update on our site or notifying you by email.
2. What This Privacy Policy Covers
This Policy applies to information collected by Givsly through our Services about Givsly’s clients (“Givsly Clients”), Givsly Clients’ employees, customers, nonprofit partners, and individuals who register for or attend Givsly-hosted events (“Event Attendees”).
When Givsly provides Services on behalf of Clients, we act as a “data processor” or “service provider.” When Givsly organizes and hosts an event, we act as a “controller” or “business” under applicable data protection laws.
3. Information Collected, Used, and Disclosed
Information we may collect to provide the Services
- Full name
- Company email address
- Company name and job title
- Account information
- General office location (country, city, state, or zip/postal code)
- Industry and nonprofit preferences
When you register for or attend a Givsly-hosted event, we may also collect Event Attendee Information (name, company, title, work email, event registration details).
How We Use Personal Information
We use personal information to:
- Facilitate donations to nonprofit organizations through Donation Offers
- Manage invites, registration, and access for Givsly events
- Communicate about your participation in Givsly programs
- Understand nonprofit and industry engagement trends
- Comply with applicable laws
Event Sponsor Sharing: When registering for an event, you acknowledge and agree that Givsly will share your Event Attendee Information with the identified event sponsors (“Sponsors”) so they can follow up about networking and professional opportunities related or unrelated to that event.
Sponsor Identification: At registration we identify each sponsor who will receive your Event Attendee Information. You can review the current list on the event page before submitting the form.
Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties
We may disclose personal information to trusted third parties as needed to operate our Services, including:
- Service Providers and Processors: vendors that provide hosting, analytics, communications, or payment services.
- Sponsors (required for event participation): Sponsors will receive Event Attendee Information (e.g., name, work email, title, company) to enable event-related professional outreach tied to the event. Sponsors must not sell, share, or disclose your information to other parties, or combine it with third-party data for profiling unrelated to the event. They must delete it within 12 months of the event, or sooner upon your request, unless you have established a direct relationship with the Sponsor or law requires longer retention.
- Compliance and Safety: when necessary to comply with law, prevent fraud, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Givsly or others.
4. Your Privacy Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to opt out of certain uses.
Event Sponsor Sharing Notice (required for registration): Participation in Givsly-hosted events requires disclosure of your Event Attendee Information to the named Sponsors for event-related professional outreach.
Registration Consent: Before finalizing the event registration form, you acknowledge and agree to the Service Terms and Privacy Policy by Givsly. This acknowledgment confirms that you understand your event registration includes sharing your name, company, title, and work email with the event sponsors listed on the event page so they may contact you about this event and related professional opportunities.
Withdraw after registration: You may withdraw your consent at any time by emailing privacy@givsly.com with the event name. If we have already shared your information, we will notify the Sponsors and request deletion. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before your withdrawal and may limit your participation in any sponsor-related touchpoints tied to the event.
Marketing Communications: You can opt out of Givsly marketing emails by clicking “unsubscribe” in any message.
5. Children
Our Services are not intended for or directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have done so inadvertently, please contact us so we can delete it.
6. Safeguarding & Retention of Personal Information
We maintain appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, or unauthorized access. Data is stored in secure hosting environments and encrypted in transit and at rest where appropriate.
Givsly retains information for as long as necessary to provide our Services, meet legal obligations, or resolve disputes. Event Attendee Information and associated consent records are retained for up to 24 months unless required longer by law or to defend legal claims.
7. For Users in the United Kingdom (UK), European Economic Area (EEA), or the European Union (EU)
When we act as a controller for event data, our lawful bases for processing include legitimate interests (to manage and secure events) and consent (for Sponsor data sharing). You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting privacy@givsly.com.
You have the right to: access, correct, or delete your personal data; restrict or object to processing; data portability; lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority; and withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior lawful processing).
